What to ask when you call
Not sure what a good answer sounds like? See how to find a duck vet.
- Their site lists waterfowl as patients — ask whether the avian vet is in on the day you need to come.
- Ask for the exam fee up front, and what bloodwork or X-rays add on top.
- Ask whether they are taking new avian patients.
- Ask where they send after-hours emergencies. The nearest 24-hour clinic we list is VEG Buffalo Grove, 62 miles away.
